A first-timer's guide to the Downtown cigar lounge that pours until 3 a.m. on weekends.
It's past midnight on a Saturday, and most of Downtown Miami has gone quiet. At 106 NE 1st Street, the jazz is still playing. Warm light spills from the glass cabinets facing the long bar. A bartender sets down a drink. Someone settles deeper into an armchair, and a match flares at the far end of the room.
There's no rush. On Fridays and Saturdays, Cigar Club Miami stays open until 3 a.m.
It's a cigar lounge and full bar in Downtown's Diamond and Business District, and you don't need a membership to walk in.
A Different Kind of Miami Cigar Room
Miami's cigar story has been told for generations across the river in Little Havana. Cigar Club Miami tells a newer one: a contemporary room in the middle of the business district, with coffee in the morning and cocktails long after the office towers empty out.
It suits the professional who just wrapped a meeting nearby, the visitor staying in Brickell who wants one more stop, and the friend who has never held a cigar but came along anyway.
The Cigars
The humidor is the heart of any cigar room. For private groups, the team here pulls limited and boutique selections from the humidor and leads guided pairings: flights of cigars matched with whiskey, rum or cognac.
Founder Elad Smadja also brings the industry into the conversation. On the club's YouTube channel, he has sat down with Jonathan Drew of Drew Estate and Manny Iriarte of OpusX Society to talk about building a brand and how they got there.
First time in a cigar lounge?
You don't need the vocabulary. A few basics help:
- Start with what you drink. Coffee, rum or whiskey is a useful starting point for choosing a cigar.
- Go mild and smaller. A milder, shorter cigar is the easiest first smoke.
- Puff, don't inhale. Cigar smoke is for tasting, not for the lungs.
- Take your time. Even a modest cigar can last close to an hour.
- You don't have to finish it. Setting a cigar down in the ashtray and letting it go out is perfectly normal.
When in doubt, ask the staff for a recommendation.
From Morning Cappuccino to Last Call
The day starts gently. When The Manual featured the club in September 2026, the visit began with a cappuccino at the bar.
The doors open at 11 a.m. Monday through Saturday and at noon on Sunday. Closing is midnight Sunday through Thursday and 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. That leaves room for a long coffee meeting at noon, drinks after work and a last round when most of Downtown has called it a night.
The Room
A row of dark stools lines the long bar, which faces a wall of warmly lit display cabinets. Pendant lights hang over the counter. Wood floors and dark cabinetry keep the palette deep, and upholstered armchairs run along the room toward the back. Smooth jazz sits underneath the conversation.
Come alone and take a stool. Come with friends and claim the armchairs.
Private Events, Launches and After-Parties
The room isn't just for birthdays. The lounge hosts:
- Private celebrations: birthdays, anniversaries, bachelor evenings.
- Business nights: client entertainment, deal closers, offsites and mixers.
- Brand activations: cigar launches, luxury product demos, influencer events.
- Tastings and pairings: guided cigar-and-spirit flights.
- VIP pre- and after-parties during Miami's conference, art and race weeks.
Hosts can name a signature cocktail after the event and add custom menus, logo signage, a photo backdrop, gift bags or take-home cigars, plus a DJ or jazz trio on request. In August 2026, the calendar featured The Future of AI with LinkMe, an evening for founders, operators and tech professionals.
Planning one takes three steps. Send the date, time window, estimated guest count and occasion. The team confirms availability and talks through the flow, pairings and spending minimum. Then you meet at the lounge to finalize the details and preview the cigars and spirits. Start planning your event or write to management@cigarclubmiami.com.
Membership Is Optional
The lounge is open to everyone. The membership is for people who want to go deeper into the industry: a monthly video guide from Smadja and a private Zoom conversation with a guest from the cigar world, such as a brand founder or representative. Members put their own questions to the guest, and invitations arrive by email. See the membership.
